Vidwest Studios Receives 8.8K Grant
We at Vidwest Studios, deeply rooted in Missouri's grassroots media community, are overjoyed to share with you all that we've been awarded a generous grant of $8,834 by the Boone Electric Community Trust (BECT). This significant financial boost will enable us to enhance our studio with new computers, cameras, and audio recording equipment. Additionally, we have introduced a new gear vending machine in the studio, offering small but essential media items like memory cards and cables, directly supporting creators on the Business Loop.
We are profoundly grateful to the Trust for their support and belief in our mission. Receiving this grant is a landmark moment in our journey, affirming our dedication to promoting affordable media access and education to everyone. These funds are crucial to expand our equipment library, meet the needs of our expanding membership base, and continue empowering the creative pursuits of our community.
We're immensely thankful to the Trust for their support and faith in our mission. This grant does more than just expand our resources; it broadens our reach within Columbia, ensuring that every voice in Columbia has the chance to be heard.
As a second-generation nonprofit community media center, our mission at Vidwest Studios has always been to nurture the art of storytelling through film and media. We take pride in our history of supporting Columbia's dynamic grassroots media scene, providing a diverse array of programs including classes, workshops, and storytelling events. We're committed to offering affordable studio space and equipment to all city residents, democratizing media production and education for individuals, students, businesses, and nonprofits.
