We’re Columbia’s one and only community media center, and our mission is simple: make digital media accessible to you. Whether you are an individual or an organization, our memberships are inexpensive and put all of our resources right at your fingertips. From photography and video studios to gear and video editing software, we have everything you need to support your cinematic vision.

REGISTRATION FEES
$20 non-members
$1 members (yes, you read that right, one whole dollar…may as well become a member)
Financial assistance has been provided by the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs
RENT GEAR + STUDIO
We offer a fully digital checkout process, allowing members to find and select the gear or studio they would like to rent right on our site.
FESTIVALS + SCREENINGS
Vidwest is proud to host several local film festivals and offers screening space for any of our members who are looking to host their own event.
LIVESTREAM TRAINING
Vidwest Studios offers livestream services and broadcast training for all Columbia residents. This service includes lending you the equipment to produce your own content and offering troubleshooting advice.

Vidwest serves Columbia’s residents and everyone in the Mid-Missouri area.

All members can reserve gear and studio time through our reservation portal. Interested in becoming a member? Click here to learn more about memberships.

Vidwest manages a public access cable channel that airs on Mediacom, CenturyLink, and Charter. You can contact vidwestprogrammer@gmail.com for information about how to air original content or curate for the channel. All content must meet ADA requirements (e.g. contain captions) for broadcast.

Vidwest Studios does not keep regular walk-in hours since our studio is volunteer-run. If you wish to visit the studio you are welcome to contact us to find availability.

We accept old A/V equipment that may still have some life. As a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, we can offer a tax donation letter in return for contributions.
HIRE US
For organizations with a larger budget, we offer Vidwest-produced livestreams. Operating broadcast-quality cameras, lights, and microphones, our teams deliver multi-cam livestream productions from any location with a reliable internet connection. If you seek a large-scale production and want to outsource the work, consider hiring your local public media professionals.
Livestream services are available for members and non-members; contact us today for an event quote. If you want to learn the craft of livestreaming, then you can become a Vidwest member. A low-cost annual membership grants you access to training, equipment and unique project opportunities in your community.
